Dr. Xiaotian Zhong is currently a Lab Head and Principal Scientist of Global Biotherapeutics Technologies at Pfizer Worldwide Biotherapeutics R&D. Prior to joining Pfizer in October 2009, he was a Lab Head and Principal Research Scientist at Wyeth Research from June 2002 to September 2009. With over 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience in Drug Discovery and Development, Dr. Zhong has a strong scientific and technical background in biotherapeutics engineering and production, from cell-line development/engineering/scale-up processing, to structure-based protein engineering for improved potency/biophysical/PD/PK/safety features, and for bioconjugations/novel protein scaffolds. His current and past therapeutic research focuses include Autoimmune diseases, Oncology, and Hemophilia. Dr. Zhong received a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Genetics from Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA), an MPH degree in Management from Harvard University, and a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Cell Biology at Harvard University. Dr. Zhong is an author or co-author of 26 peer-reviewed publications and an inventor of four issued patents.
