Günther Hölbling is a Research Assistant and a Ph.D. student at the Chair of Distributed Information Systems, University of Passau. He received his M.S. degree in computer science at the University of Klagenfurt in 2006. His current research focuses on service-oriented architecture like UPnP and OSGi, mobile information systems, distributed systems, multimedia, and personalization in various multimedia scenarios. He is the author of several research papers published in international journals (e.g., “Intertainment: interactive TV services on mobile devices,” IEEE MultiMedia Magazine, April-June 2008 (vol. 15, no. 2)), conference proceedings, as well as chapters of books (e.g., Overview of Open Standards for Interactive TV (iTV), in Multimedia Semantics - The Role of Metadata).
