Raymond Pitetti received a BSE in biomedical engineering in 1987 at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. He received his MD from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, and completed a residency in pediatrics at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in 1992. In 1998, he completed his fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health with an MPH. Presently, he is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, the Associate Division Chief of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Associate Medical Director of the Emergency Department, Medical Director of Sedation Services and Medical Director of Express Care. His research interests include procedural sedation and analgesia in the pediatric patient, apparent life threatening events and sudden infant death syndrome.
