Byung-Hoon Jeong
0000-0002-4525-9994Byung-Hoon Jeong was born in Naju, Republic of Korea, in 1968. He graduated from the Department of Biology, Mokpo National University, Mokpo, Republic of Korea, in 1990 and received the M.S. degree in biology from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1995. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in biology from Kangwon National University, Chuncheon, Republic of Korea, in 2002. He served as a Research Professor at the Kangwon National University (IILS), Hallym University, Anyang, Republic of Korea, in 1995. He is currently a Section Chief of the IILS. He has served as a Member of the Editorial Board of the "World Journal of Medical Genetics," "ISRN Genetics," "Dataset Papers in Medicine," "Advances in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology," and "American Journal of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology." He is an Academic Manager of Neurological Virus Committee, the Korean Society of Virus. He is also the author or coauthor of more than 45 peer-reviewed research papers. His main research interests are in the genetic analysis and pathogenic molecular mechanism of neurodegenerative disorders such as prion disease.
