Raghvendra K. Dubey
Raghvendra K. Dubey is currently a Professor at the Clinic for Reproductive Endocrinology, University Hospital of Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland. Born in Lucknow, India, he did his schooling there and later obtained his M.S. degree in biochemistry from Lucknow University, Lucknow, India, and his Ph.D. degree from Kanpur University, Kanpur, India. Subsequently he completed a three-year postdoc fellowship in clinical pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA, and later joined the Department of Medicine at West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, USA, as an Assistant Professor. After three years he joined the University of Basel, Basel, Switzerland, as a Visiting Professor and later became an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA, USA. His current research topic is the study of the role of sex hormones in various pathophysiologies with specific relevance to women’s health. He has published more than 100 original peer-reviewed papers and several reviews and book chapters. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and a Member of the American Endocrine Society and the American Physiological Society. His work on estradiol metabolism and the development of 2-methoxyestradiol as a noncarcinogenic therapeutic molecule is ongoing.
