Nikolaos Michailidis

Dr. Michailidis is an Assistant Professor of the Physical Metallurgy Laboratory, Mechanical Engineering Department, School of Engineering of AUTH. His also an Associate Member of the International Academy for Production Engineering. Coatings’ production methods and properties characterization, Materials’ mechanical properties characterization, Nanoindentation technology, Application of coatings on cutting tools, Design and process analysis by Finite Elements Method (FEM), Mechanical properties determination of glued materials, Rapid prototyping, Reconstruction of archaeological findings by computer tomography and rapid prototyping, Optimized assembly and disassembly of industrial products. Bone properties determination by testing and FEM analysis, Production and properties evaluation of porous materials and metal foams, Stress corrosion cracking, Life cycle assesment. In 2009 he got a Fellowship by the SEW Eurodrive Foundation (Germany) for Visiting Professor in the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (Aachen, Germany).
