Marcio Martins is a Professor at the Physics Department of the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil. He held postdoctoral positions at the University of California Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, Calif, USA, at the International School for Advanced Studies, Trieste, Italy, and at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He has been a Member of the Institute for Advanced Studies, Princeton, NJ, USA. His current research is concerned with the mathematical physics properties of exactly solved models of statistical mechanics and quantum field theory. Martins' areas of interest include the exact solution of integrable models, the partition and correlation functions of lattice models, integrability in string and gauge theories as well as connections with algebraic geometry, and analytic and numerical methods to study many-body systems.
