Jen-Ming Yang

Prof. Jen Ming Yang was born in I-Lan, Taiwan. In 1980 Prof. Yang received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. Two years later, he obtained a Masters Degree in Polymer Science at National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan and in 1990 he received his PhD in the same field. From 1990 to 1991 he continued his studies at the University of California at Berkeley, USA and achieved his Postdoctorate degree in Polymer Science. Currently, Prof. Yang’s is a Porfessor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at Chang Gung University, Tao-Yuan, Taiwan. Prof. Yang’s field of research encompasses polymer science, membrane for fuel cell and gas separation, biomaterials and drug controlled release. Consequently, he has reviewed a variety of scholarly journals, which include the International Journal of Nanomedicine, Journal of Membrane Science, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Acta Biomater, Materials Science and Engineering C, Journal of Biomaterials Science-Polymer Edition, Macromolecules, Ionics, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Jornal of Polymer Research, Journal of the Chinese Institute of Chemical Engineers. He has also contributed over 150 articles to numerous professional journals and symposiums. Prof. Yang is a membrane of Phi Tau Phi Honor Society. He has appeared in two esteemed books: “Who’s who in the World in 1998” and “500 Great Asians of the early 21st Century in 2002”. From Aug, 2002 to Jul. 2003 he had been a visiting scholar of Prof. Langer’s group at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. He has received commendations and awards including candidate of Outstanding Research Award of National Science Council , Taiwan (2004), Excellent Research Award from Chang Gung University (2004), Research Award Second Class of National Science Council, Taiwan (2005-2006).
