Cosimino Malitesta received his M.S. degree cum laude in chemistry and his Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry from Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Bari, Italy, in 1983 and 1989, respectively. Since then, he has been there working as a Lecturer and as an Associate Professor in analytical chemistry. In 2001, he has been appointed as a Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Università del Salento, Lecce, Italy. He has served as a Vice President of Analytical Chemistry Division of the Italian Chemistry Society. His research interests include chemical and chemometric strategies for enhancing resolution/sensitivity in XPS analysis, electrochemical biosensors, and biomimetic sensors based on electrosynthesised polymers, electrosynthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers, development and analytical application of oxide nanoparticles, and so forth.
