Aiguo Song received both his B.S. degree in automatic control (1986-1990) and his M.S. degree (1990-1993) in measurement and control from the Nanjing Aeronautics and Astronautics University in Nanjing, China, and his Ph.D. degree (1993-1996) in measurement and control from Southeast University also located in Nanjing, China. Since 2000, he has been working as a Professor and as a Director of the Robot Sensor and Control Laboratory at the School of Instrumental Science and Engineering in Southeast University, China. Song’s research expertise and interests are in the areas of force/tactile sensor, robot sensor, human computer interface, neural networks, and sensor networks. He has published over 120-refereed journals and conference papers and graduated over 20 Ph.D. and 20 M.S. degrees students. He holds 31 patents on force/tactile sensor, robot sensor, and sensor network technologies. He is currently an Associate Editor for the Chinese Journal of Robotics, the Chinese Journal of Information Engineering, and the Chinese Journal of Sensor Technology. He is the Vice-President of the Chinese Committee of Error Theory and Data analysis, a Member of the Chinese Robot Society, a Member of the Chinese Automation Association, a Member of the Chinese Instrument and Control Society, and a Member of the IEEE.
