Alfio Ferlito graduated in medicine at the University of Bologna. He holds M.D., D.L.O., D.Path., F.R.C.S.E.d. ad hominem, F.R.C.S. (Engl, Glasg, Ir) ad eundem, F.D.S.R.C.S. ad eundem, F.A.C.S., F.H.K.C.O.R.L., F.R.C.Pth., F.A.S.C.P., I.F.C.A.P. He is Director of the Department of Surgical Sciences and Chairman of the ENT Clinic at the University of Udine School of Medicine in Italy. He has published numerous articles, chapters, and books on various aspects of head and neck cancers, and is one of the world’s leading authorities on diagnosis and treatment of these tumors. He has written and edited a small library of textbooks. His curriculum vitae provides insight to a glittering of industry and innovation in otolaryngology, particularly in laryngology. He has been a Visiting Professor and Guest Lecturer at numerous institutions in the five continents. His publications during the past several years have concentrated heavily on the latest concepts in management of metastatic disease in the neck from head and neck cancer. He is not just an academic leader but also a widely respected clinician.
