Ramon Trullas

Ramon Trullas performed predoctoral studies at the Millhauser Laboratories of the Psychiatry Department of New York University Medical Center, NY, USA, and received the Ph.D. degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, with a thesis on the mechanism of action of antidepressant drugs. He served as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Dr. Phil Skolnick at the Laboratory of Bio-Organic Chemistry, NIDDK, NIH in Bethesda, MD, USA and continued as a Visiting Associate at the Laboratory of Neuroscience, NIDDK, NIH. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Research and Head of the Neurobiology Unit at the Institute for Biomedical Research of Barcelona (IIBB/CSIC/IDIBAPS). His areas of expertise include neurodegeneration, molecular mechanisms of neuronal death and synapse damage, behavioural neurobiology, and mechanism of action of antidepressant drugs.
