Constantinos Pistos

Constantinos Pistos was graduated at the School of Pharmacy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1995 and completed his M.S. degree and Ph.D. thesis in pharmaceutical analysis-quality control at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Athens in 1998 and 2001, respectively. After his Ph.D. studies, he obtained a postdoctoral fellowship in USA where he had the opportunity to continue his research work and expand his knowledge and experience in the biomedical field. After his return to Greece, he served as Director in ILS CRO, a private bioanalytical laboratory which was dealing with clinical trials phase I (pharmacokinetic studies). In September, 2006, he had the position of Toxicology Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Athens. In this position, Dr. Pistos developed his research and teaching capabilities through the development of research protocols, taught classes for undergraduates and graduate students, and conducted research in collaboration with graduate students. He wrote and published 29 articles as main author and coauthor and 2 chapters in international books, and he served 28 times as a reviewer for international scientific journals. He is a Member of the Technical Committee for Laboratories 1 (Hellenic Accreditation System, ESYD). Pistos also serves as consultant in the field of pharmaceutical manufacture and toxicology and as collaborator of the State General Laboratory and the Cyprus Anti-Doping Authority.
