Kang Choon Lee

Kang Choon Lee is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Science, and also he is the Director of the Center of Excellence for Future Pharmaceutical Education and Research at SungKyunKwan University (SKKU) in Seoul, South Korea. He was the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and the Director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science of SKKU. Prior to joining SKKU in 1992, he was a Professor at Chonnam National University and an industrial scientist in drug delivery development at Dong-A Pharmaceutical Company. The research focus of his Drug Targeting Laboratory has been in the areas of immunotargeting including immunotoxins, preformulation of protein and peptide drugs, and bioconjugating modification of peptide and protein drugs. In recent years, his research activities have focused on the site-specific PEGylation of peptide and protein drugs and delivery system development for PEGylated peptide and protein drugs. He served as the Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea and Korean Society of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, respectively, and was a recipient of the Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award from the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea in 2002. He was honored as a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) in 2003 and has served also on the Editorial Advisory Boards of Pharmaceutical Research, Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, and PharmSciTech.
