Michele Dondi is the Head Researcher at ISTEC Faenza (Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics) that is part of the CNR (Italian National Research Council) where he is the Project Leader on New Technologies for Industry, Construction, Cultural Heritage and the Environment. He started his research carrier at ISTEC in 1988, after he obtained his M.S. degree in geological sciences at the University of Bologna in 1985 (110/110 cum laude) and a biennial work experience as Ceramic Technologist at SACMI Imola. His scientific activity is particularly focused on the behaviour of raw materials, the properties of ceramic materials, and the product and process innovation. It is witnessed by approximately 300 publications (over 100 on ISI-JCR journals), books, and several lectures to scientific and technical congresses. Part of his activity is especially dealing with technological transfer, technical consultancy and services to industries, bringing about numerous contracts with companies manufacturing wall and floor tiles, ceramic glazes and pigments, machinery, bricks and roof tiles, tableware, refractory, and technical ceramics.
