Sibel Irmak is currently an Assistant Professor of chemistry at Çukurova University, Adana, Turkey. She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Çukurova University in 1997. She holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from the same university. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Oklahoma State University Food and Agricultural Products Research and Technology Center, Stillwater, OK (2003–2005) and Grain Science and Industry Department, Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS (2005-2006). Her research focuses on gasification of lignocellulosic biomass in aqueous media for hydrogen-rich gas production and developing active catalysts for this conversion.
