Monir Moniruzzaman

Cranfield University, United Kingdom

Monir Moniruzzaman has a B.S. (honors) degree in chemistry from Dhaka University and an M.S. degree in organic chemistry from the same university. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in polymer chemistry from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Sheffield. His research was on the synthesis and characterization of block copolymers. He worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Materials, University of Oxford prior to joining Cranfield University as a Senior Research Fellow in 2002. He is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC). He has diverse skills in block copolymers, self-healing and self-sensing polymers, energetic materials, chemical sensors for explosives and drug detection, safe-life indicator for munitions, polyrotaxane nanotubes, and polymer-structure-properties relationship. He has expertise in most of the techniques used for polymers and energetic materials characterization.
