Hong-Jie Dai is an Assistant Professor at Graduate Institute of Biomedical Informatics, Taipei Medical University. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from National Tsing-Hua University. His research interests focus on big data mining, cloud computing, natural language processing, bioinformatics, and software engineering. His research laboratory is developing computational software tools and cloud services for text mining research. Professor Dai achieved great success in several international academic competitions with the cooperation with Professor Wen-Lian Hsu and Professor Richard Tzong-Han Tsai. In 2009, his team won the first place of the interactor normalization task in the BioCreative workshop held by CNIO, Spain. In 2011, his team won the second place out of Asian teams that participated in the i2b2 shared-task on challenges in clinical natural language processing held by NIH-i2b2, USA. Until now, he has published several papers in top SCI-indexed journals. His papers have been accepted by leading artificial intelligence or natural language processing conferences including IJCAI, COLING, and IJCNLP.
