Nuri Azbar is a Full Professor at the Department of Bioengineering, Ege University, Turkey. He had his Ph.D. degree from the School of Engineering, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA, in 1999 in the area of environmental biotechnology. His main professional research interest areas are biofuels focusing on biohydrogen and biomethane and environmental biotechnology. His academic works focus on biorefinery concept in a way to recover the economic value of organic waste materials in the form of bioenergy or value-added products such as biopolymers. Professor Azbar is a Member of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE) and the Turkish Chamber of Environmental Engineers. He is one of the Founder Members of the Biohydrogen Division, IAHE. He also represented Turkey as an International Delegate for Programme Committee for Environment in FP6-FP7 European Frame Programme from 2006 to 2010.
