Chaminda Hewage received the B.S. (honor) degree in electrical and information engineering from the University of Ruhuna, Matara, Sri Lanka. During 2004-2005, he worked as a Telecommunication Engineer for Sri Lanka Telecom in the field of data communications. Hewage completed his Ph.D. degree (with a thesis entitled "Perceptual quality driven 3D video over networks") at Centre for Communication Systems Research, University of Surrey, Guildford, UK. He also worked on VISNET II Network of Excellence (NoE) of IST FP6 programme in the area of robust immersive media communications. Since September 2009 he is attached to Wireless Multimedia & Networking Research Group at Kingston University, London, UK. His current research interests are 2D/3D video processing and communications, error resilience/concealment, real-time quality evaluation, and related fields in multimedia communications. Hewage is a Member of IEEE. He was awarded a gold medal by the University of Ruhuna for his achievements in engineering discipline at the general convocation held in 2004.
