Pr. Serge R. Mordon, PhD is working in Lille, France for the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM). Pr. Mordon is the director of INSERM U 703 (Interventional Therapies Assisted by Image and Simulation) and the director of the Photomedicine Center (Lille University Hospital). Since 1981, he has been involved in the medical applications of lasers, particularly in dermatology and plastic surgery.He is has developed several innovative techniques for angiodysplasia treatment (Hexascan), for cartilage reshaping (LACR ) and for scar healing (LASH). More recently, he has focused his research on Focal Laser Ablation and Photodynamic Therapy. He is an internationally recognized expert in laser-tissues interaction and laser applications in medicine. He has authored over 340 articles and book chapters. Pr. Mordon is the author of ten issued patents. He is the President of the French Medical Laser Society (SFLM). He is a Board Member of the European laser Association (ELA) and a Board Member of the American Society for Lasers in medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) acting as representative of Basic Science Division. He is an associate editor of the journal, Lasers in Surgery and Medicine and member of the Editorial Board of "Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy", Photodiganosis and Photodynamic Therapy » and Photonics & Lasers in Medicine. Pr. Mordon received in 2006 the prestigious Caroline and William Mark Memorial Award from the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery in recognition of his outstanding contributions to laser technology and patient care.
