Elson Longo serves as a Technical Assistant at the Office of UNESP, as a Professor Emeritus at the Federal University of San Carlos, and as a Doctor of physical chemistry, the Institute of Physics of the USP-San Carlos. He developed more than 37 projects and agreements with the federal and state governments and also with companies (only with the CSN have been more than 42 projects). He orients and codirects more than 65 theses and dissertations. He received more than 20 awards and honors. He also maintains strong exchange with national and international institutions of research in Spain, France, USA, and Italy. Recently, he works as the Director of the Multidisciplinary Center for Materials Development Cerâmicos, a center, financed by FAPESP, which is designed to develop research, basic and technology, education, and technology transfer to the private sector. He is a Member of the International Academy of Ceramics (World Academy of Ceramics) and the Ex-President of the Brazilian Society for Research in Materials (SBPMat).
