Weiyun Zhang’s research includes immunomodulatory functions and mechanisms of bioactive natural products from Traditional Chinese Medicine and diseases and immunity dysfunction. She received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in zoology and the Ph.D. degree in botany (pharmacology), all from Nanjing University, China, in 1986, 1989, and 2000, respectively. She has been working as a Research Assistant from June 1989 to February 1997 at the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, conducting researches on microbiology and immunology. From April 2000 to March 2001, she served as an Instructor at the Department of Preclinical Medicine, Medical School of Nanjing University, China. She also worked as an Associate Professor at Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Molecular Medicine, Department of Preclinical Medicine, Medical School of Nanjing University, China, from April 2001 to December 2008. Since December 2008, she has been working as a Professor at Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Molecular Medicine, Medical School of Nanjing University and the State Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science, Nanjing University, China.
