Andrew Ooi is an Associate Professor and an academic staff member at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Melbourne. He graduated with a B.E. degree (1993) and Ph.D. degree (1997) from the same university. Prior to his current appointment, the Associate Professor Ooi has worked at the Center for Turbulence Research (CTR) at NASA Ames and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO). Since joining the university in 2000, he has led research programs and published extensively in the area of fluid dynamics and bubble acoustics research. His current research interests include flow structures in turbulent and laminar flows, computational fluid dynamics, computational aero acoustics, error dynamics of numerical discretization schemes, and bubble acoustics.
