Jihong Liu received his M.D. degree, in 1984, and his Ph.D. degree, in 1991, from Tongji Medical University, Hubei, China. Liu is a Professor at the Department of Urology and Vice President of the Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hubei, China. He was also a Research Student at the Osaka University Hospital, Osaka, Japan, in 1993. He served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Giessen, Giessen, Germany, in 1996, and as a Postdoc at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, USA, in 2000. Liu is also a Council Member of Asia-Pacific Society for Sexual Medicine, Vice Director of Andrology Branch of Chinese Urological Association, a Vice Chairman of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Combination Andrological Society, and a Standing Committee Member of Chinese Andrological Association. Liu is on the Editorial Boards or Vice Chief Editor of 9 journals including the National Journal of Andrology, the Chinese Journal of Andrology, the Chinese Journal of Urology, the Chinese Journal of Experimental Surgery, and the Chinese Journal of Clinical Urology. He had been engaged in clinical works and teaching and researching on urology and andrology fields for more than 20 years. He was awarded more than 30 scientific research grants and he educated 30 Ph.D. candidates and 50 M.S. candidates. He has presented numerous papers at many local and international conferences and has published more than 350 journal articles and/or 30 books (chapters), including 50 original articles in the journals cited by SCI.
