Stamatios Kalligeros received a Diploma in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. degree from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Athens, Greece, in 1996 and 2002, respectively. He also received his M.S. degree in industrial management with a specialization in energy administration and environmental protection from the University of Piraeus, Piraeus, Greece, in 2000. Since 1996, Kalligeros has served as a Research Associate at the Fuels & Lubricants Technology Laboratory, NTUA, Greece. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as the Head of Research & Development Department, Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA. From 2006 to 2010, Kalligeros was an Advisor at Industrial & Environmental Policy Enforcement in West Attica Prefecture. He has been teaching at the School of Chemical Engineering, NTUA. Presently, he serves as an Assistant Professor and is responsible for the Fuels & Lubricants Laboratory, Hellenic Naval Academy, Piraeus, Greece. He is mainly interested in fuels and lubricants technology, such as fuels (solid, liquid, and air), alternative fuels (solid, liquid, and air), biofuels (solid, liquid, and air), biolubricants, emissions, air, land, and water pollution, oil spills, tribology, quality, accreditation, and standardization.
