Cláudia Gomes Silva graduated in chemical engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 2001 and she received an M.S. degree in environmental engineering in 2003 from the same university. She did her Ph.D. studies on the development of novel catalysts for photocatalytic water treatment and graduated in chemical and biological engineering from University of Porto in 2008. In 2009, she moved to Valencia (Spain) to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ, CSIC-UPV), where she started a new research line on visible-light photocatalysis for water splitting. In 2010, she returned to FEUP where she works as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Associate Laboratory LSRE/LCM. Her current research interests include materials science and photocatalytic processes for environmental protection, hydrogen production, and synthesis of high added-value products.
