Pascale Belenguer

Université de Toulouse, France

Pascale Belenguer was born in 1963 and received her Ph.D. degree in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Toulouse in 1990. She was appointed an Assistant Professor of molecular biology in this University in 1991 and as a Full Professor in 2003. Belenguer started her research career on ribosome biogenesis during her thesis and postdoctoral studies (1987–1991) and then developed her own project on cell cycle regulation in yeast models (1992–2000), which allowed her to identify key proteins regulating mitochondrial dynamics. She then started her own group on mitochondrial dynamics and expanded her studies to various models (2000–present). She is now a Group Leader in the CNRS, University Center for Developmental Biology (UMR5547) and the Head of the Teaching Department of Molecular Biology (University of Toulouse).
