Steve Majerus is a cognitive neuroscientist who received his PhD in psychological sciences from the Université de Liège in 2002. He is currently a Research professor at the Department of Psychology - Cognition & Behavior of the Université de Liège (Belgium) and is funded by the Belgian Fund for Scientific Research (F.R.S.-FNRS). He is specialized in the areas of functional neuroimaging (PET, fMRI), aphasia, neurodegenerative language diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders, with a particular interest in memory and language. He also pursues research in the field of altered states of consciousness (coma, vegetative state, minimally conscious state). He was a visiting scientist at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (Cambridge, UK, 2002), at the University of Sussex (Brighton, UK, 2006) and at the University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong, 2011).
