D. H. Ping

D. H. Ping is a Senior Researcher at National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan. He obtained his Ph.D. (1995) and M.S. (1992) degrees in materials physics from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science, as well as the B.S. degree (1986) in physics from Suzhou University, China. Since January 2000, he has been working as a Senior Researcher at National Institute for Materials Science. In 2002–2003, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University, USA. Between 1998–2000, he was a Researcher at National Research Institute for Metals. During 1997–1998, he served as a JST Fellow at National Research Institute for Metals, and during 1996–1996 he was a Visiting Scholar at Korea Institute of Science and Technology. From 1995 to 1997, he served as an Assistant Professor of materials science at the Laboratory of Atomic Image of Solids, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science. He received the Nature Science Award from the Chinese Government in 1999, and from the Chinese Academy of Science in 1998.
