My research is primarily in the area of numerical approximation of partial differential equations and efficient solution techniques for the resulting algebraic problems. This includes construction, stability and convergence analysis for finite element, finite difference and finite volume approximations, the development and analysis of iterative methods, domain decomposition, a posteriori error control and adaptive grid refinement, parallel algorithms and scientific computation with industrial application.
