Jose R. Espinosa
Jose R. Espinosa was born in Poza de la Sal (Burgos, Spain) in 1967. Espinosa obtained the Ph.D. degree (UAM 1994) working on particle physics beyond the standard model at IEM (CSIC, Madrid) under the supervision of Mariano Quirós. Espinosa's postdoctoral stays were first as a Humboldt Fellow at DESY (Hamburg, Germany), then at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Pa, USA), and, finally, as a Fellow at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland). In 1999, Espinosa returned to Spain and joined IMAFF (CSIC, Madrid) and then IFT-UAM/CSIC (Madrid) with a permanent position as a Científico Titular being promoted to an Investigador Científico in 2005 and to a Profesor of Investigación in 2008. In November of that year, Espinosa moved to Barcelona joining ICREA as a Research Professor to work at IFAE/UAB. Espinosa focuses the research work on beyond-the-standard-model phenomenology (Higgs, SUSY, neutrinos, exotics) and cosmology.
