Isela Lavilla was born in Buñuel (Navarra, Spain), in 1965. She received the Chemistry degree and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Zaragoza (Zaragoza, Spain) in 1988 and 1993, respectively. Since 1988, she works in the area of analytical chemistry (teaching and scientific research). In 1990, she was a Research Fellow at the University of Zaragoza. From 1991 to 2000, she served as an Assistant Lecturer at the Universities of Zaragoza and Vigo (Vigo, Spain). From 2001, she works as a Permanent Lecturer in this last university. She is mainly interested in the development of novel analytical methods for determination and speciation of metal ions, organometals, metalobiomolecules as well as organic compounds in several areas of interest such as environment, food, medicine, and industry.
