Yeong-Kang Lai

Yeong-Kang Lai was born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1966. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Tamkang University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1988, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the National Taiwan University in 1990 and 1997, respectively. From 1992 to 1993, he was with the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, where he worked on video conference system. In 1997, he joined the Electrical Engineering Department at Chang Gung University, Taoyuan, Taiwan, as an Assistant Processor. From 1998 to 2001, he was Assistant Processor of the Information Engineering Department at National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan. Currently, he is an Associate Processor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan. He is also a Member of the Honor society Phi Tau Phi. His research interests include video compression, DSP architecture design, video signal processor design, and VLSI signal processing.
