Antonio Macciò
0000-0003-0577-7217Antonio Maccio was born in Iglesias, Italy, in 1956. He received a degree in medicine (summa cum laude), and his postgraduate specialization is in gynecologic oncology and the postgraduate specialization is in medical oncology at the University of Cagliari, Italy. Since 1999, he has served as the Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Maternal and Child Health, and the Unit of Gynecology Oncology at the Sirai Hospital, Carbonia, Italy. His research interests include pathophysiology and treatment of cancer-related anorexia/cachexia, oxidative stress, pathogenesis, and the treatment of cancer anemia, human tumor immunology, immunocompetence of cancer patients and immunotherapy, and combined modality treatment of gynecological tumors.
