Xuedong Yan

Xuedong Yan completed his M.S.C.E. and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering (transportation), respectively, in 2003 and 2005 at University of Central Florida, Orlando, Fla, USA. Consequently, he served as a Research Associate in Center for Advanced Transportation Systems Simulation (CATSS) at University of Central Florida from 2005 to 2007. Since August 2007, he has joined in the Southeastern Transportation Center (STC) as the Research Director. In 2011, Dr. Yan was recruited as a Full Professor by Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, and appointed as the Executive Director of MOE Key Laboratory for Transportation Complex Systems Theory and Technology. Dr. Yan’s research expertise includes advanced driving simulator research, driving behavior and human factor, GIS application on traffic engineering, traffic safety and security, statistical analysis, traffic simulation, etc. Dr. Yan is currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Transportation Safety & Security and the Associate Editor for The Open Transportation Journal. Dr. Yan has published more than 50 journal papers, 30 conference papers, and 9 technical reports and presented his research work in international conferences for more than 30 times.
