Roberta Nipoti was graduated in solid state physics (cum laudae) at the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy in 1979. She was a NATO Fellow in the Group of Solid State Physics of the Ecole Normale Superioure at the University of Paris VI in Paris, France in the years 1981 and 1986. She joined the Italian National Council of Research (CNR) in Bologna in 1984, where, since 2001, she occupies the position of Senior Researcher. Her experience and expertise include the ion beam processing and ion beam analysis of thin films for microelectronics applications. Her current research interest concerns the exploitation of the ion beam processing for SiC electronic and microsystem devices. Dr. Nipoti has coauthored more than 80 articles on JCR journals and 2 chapters of books dedicated to the ion beam processing of semiconductors materials. She has presented several contributions to international conferences, and she has been General Chairman of the 5th European Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (ECSCRM) in 2004.
