Michael Pircher graduated from the Experimental Physics Department of Graz University of Technology, Graz, Austria, in 2000. In 2003, he finished his Ph.D. degree at Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria. From 2003 to 2006, Pircher worked as a Postdoc at the Center for Biomedical Engineering and Physics of the Medical University of Vienna. From 2006 to 2012, he was working as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering of the Medical University of Vienna, where he gained his Habilitation degree in 2008. Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Faculty Member. His scientific interest lies in retinal imaging, adaptive optics, new contrast techniques in optical coherence tomography, polarization sensitive optical coherence tomography, and coherence microscopy.
