Seonho Cho was graduated from the Department of Naval Architecture at Seoul National University with a B.S. degree in 1986 and M.S. degree in the area of structural mechanics in 1988. In 1998, he was awarded a Ph.D. degree in the area of shape design sensitivity and optimization from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Iowa in USA. He started his career as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Naval Architecture and Oceaning Engineering at Seoul National University in 2001 and became a Full Professor at the same department in 2010. He is now serving as a Director in National Creative Research Initiatives Center for Isogeometric Optimal Design (CIOD) since 2010. His specialization is in design sensitivity analysis, design optimization, computational mechanics, isogeometric methods, fluid-structure interactions, and other novel computational methods. He is on the editorial board of two international journals, a Review Editor of the Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, an Associate Editor of the Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines, an Associate Editor of the Computational Structural Engineering Institute of Korea, and a Member of the International Scientific Committee in 9th World Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization in 2011.
