Marios Stavridis received his BSc in Genetics from the University of Wales, Cardiff in 1998. He then moved to the University of Edinburgh to do a PhD with Austin Smith where he studied neural differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells. In 2004 he took up a postdoctoral fellowship in the University of Dundee (College of Life Sciences) to work with Kate Storey on signals controlling neural fate aquisition in mouse ES cells and chick embryos. Since 2009 he is a lecturer in the University of Dundee (College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing) in the division of Cancer Research. His research interests include signalling by post-translational modifications in pluripotent cells and the process of lineage commitment.
