Mário Santos

Mário Santos was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1973. He received the Agronomy degree, M.S. degree in plant techniques and the Ph.D. degree in environmental sciences from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Vila Real Portugal in 1998, 2002, and 2009, respectively. Santos serves as an Assistant Professor of the Department of Biology and Environment, University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Researcher of the Laboratory of Applied Ecology and serves on a team of the Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environment and Biological Sciences, CITAB, an R&D Unit from the UTAD. His main areas of expertise are ecological indicators, ecological modelling, system dynamic models, agent-based models, stochastic dynamic methodology, ornithology, botany, urban ecosystems, and agro-ecosystems.
