Yang Liu

Yang Liu received his B.S. degree (with honors) from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1986, the M.A. degree from Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, China, in 1989, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical and mechatronic engineering from University of Sydney, Australia, in 1998. He joined National Institute of Metrology, Beijing, China, in 1989, working on temperature scale and thermometry. He served as a Guest Researcher in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, USA. From 1997 to 1998, he worked at the University of Sydney as a Research Associate on the problems related to numerical heat transfer. In 1998, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to the position of an Associate Professor in 2003. His current research interests include biomechanics, fluid-structure interaction, numerical heat transfer, and micro- and nanoscale fluidic transport.
