Ioannis Konstantinou is an Associate Professor in pollution control and environmental protection technologies, at the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources Management, University of Patras, Patra, Greece. He received his Ph.D. degree in chemical technology, in 2000, from the Department of Chemistry, University of Ioannina, Ipiros, Greece. He has published more than 70 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and books that have received more than 2800 citations and has an H-index=25. He has communicated about 100 publications in national and international workshop and conference proceedings. He has been participating in 25 national and European research projects. He is the Supervisor of 5 Ph.D. theses and 6 M.S. theses. He acts as a Reviewer for more than 60 international peer-reviewed journals and for national and international research proposals. He is a member of six national and international scientific associations and member of the organizing and scientific committee of more than ten conferences. Dr. Konstantinou scientific focus is on advanced oxidation technologies for water purification, development and application of analytical methods for the determination of pollutants and degradation products in environmental media using mass spectrometric analysis (GC MS/MS, LC-MS-MS), chemical technology for the removal of pollutants from aqueous systems (adsorption, photodegradation, oxidation, etc.), and fate and physicochemical behavior of pollutants in the environment (adsorption, photodegradation, etc.).
