Shile Huang

Dr. Huang received his PhD degree in Neurobiology/Physiology from University of Salzburg, Austria in 1997. He began to study the role of mTOR signaling in cancer cell survival/apoptosis during his postdoctoral training, mentored by Dr. Peter J. Houghton at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since starting the laboratory in Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2003, he has been studying how mTOR regulates cell motility, cell adhesion, and lymphangiogenesis. In addition, he has been involved in studying the anticancer mechanisms of natural products, as well as the neurocytotoxic mechanism of the heavy metal cadmium.
