Jan L. Cieśliński

Jan L. Cieslinski was born in Opole, Poland, in 1960. He received the M.S. degree (summa cum laude), the Ph.D. degree, and the D.S. (habilitation) degree from the Warsaw University, Poland, in 1984, 1992, and 1998, respectively. Since 1984, he has been in Bialystok, at Physics Department of Warsaw University Division and now at Faculty of Physics of University of Bialystok. In 1997-1999 and 1999-2002 he was a Head of the Institute of Physics and Institute of Theoretical Physics, respectively. Presently, he is a Professor. He is interested in continuous and discrete integrable systems, classical differential geometry, discrete geometry, Lie symmetries, and geometric numerical integration of differential equations. Among his favorite subjects are Darboux and Backlund transformations, Clifford algebras, and calculus on time scales. He is a Member of the Advisory Board of Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical and a Member of the Editorial Board of ISRN Geometry.
