Riccardo Manzini serves as an Associate Professor of logistics and industrial and manufacturing systems at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Alma Mater Studiorum (Bologna University). He is the Director of the Food Supply Chain Center and Laboratory at Bologna University http://foodsupplychain.diem.unibo.it. He is the Director of the “Warehousing Center” at Bologna University. He is the Director of the “LogiTransport Center” at Bologna University. He is the author of the most cited paper for the Journal of Food Engineering (Elsevier, impact factor: 2.616); Award One of the top 5 cited articles 2006–2010: Traceability of Food Products: General Framework and Experimental Evidence, Journal of Food Engineering (Regattieri, Gamberi, and Manzini); Medal and Award from Giorgio Napolitano, President of Italian Republic for the Food Supply Chain initiatives and the First International Workshop on Food Supply Chain 2011 (Chairman). He has carried out several research projects in cooperation with and funded by private and public companies on logistics, industrial plants, and maintenance problems in food industry (including catering and retailing), automotive industry, retail and distribution, tile industry, ad so forth. He is author of 110 scientific contributions as papers on International ISI/Scopus Journals, as international books, as international books chapters, as papers on international conference proceedings, among others.
