Juan Palou-Redorta, a holder of M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, is a Urologist who specialized in urological oncology. He graduated from the Medical School of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He became a Urologist at the Hospital Valle de Hebrón in Barcelona and also had some short periods in different centers in the USA during his residency training. He is an Associate Professor of urology at the Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain). In addition, he is a Urologist and the Chief of the Urological Oncology Department in the Fundació Puigvert in Barcelona. Dr. Palou-Redorta is a Member of the Spanish Urological Association, European Association of Urology, American Urological Association, and Société Internationale d’Urologie. He is also a Member of the Board of the European School of Urology. His main interests are clinical research in oncology (mainly urothelial cell carcinomas, especially non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and upper urinary tract tumors), laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. He has collaborated to the International Consultation on Bladder and Penile Cancer, sponsored by the WHO and SIU. He is a Member of the group in charge of the Guidelines in Non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer of the EAU and with the International Robot-Assisted Cystectomy Consortium (IRCC). Professor Palou-Redorta has published some chapters in medicine and urology books and participated in more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed urological journals. His lasts publications are mainly in bladder cancer (prognostic factors, BCG, guidelines, classifications, and robotic surgery) and upper tract tumors (laparoscopy and endourology). He is also a referee of several national and international journals. He has given several lectures in national and international meetings and as an Invited Professor in university hospitals all over the world.
