Marian Klinger

Marian Klinger was born in Warsaw, Poland (1948). She gained her M.D. degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University in Wrocław (1972), then a Ph.D. degree in 1978 for the thesis "The evaluation of immunological state on the basis of lymphocyte reactivity in in vitro culture to non-specific mitogens (PHA, Con A, PWM) in the glomerulonephritis and chronic haemodialysis patients.” In 1992, she became a Full Professor of medicine based on the evaluation of the research and professional achievement by the Governmental Central Qualification Committee. Klinger is a board certified specialist in internal medicine, nephrology, and clinical transplantology. Since the year 1998, she has been the Head of the Department of Nephrology and Transplantation Medicine, Medical University, Wrocław, Poland. Her major fields of interest are immunopathology, clinics, and treatment of primary and secondary glomerular diseases; uremic toxicity, vascular access for hemodialysis, factors affecting the haemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis adequacy. Moreover, she has several publications in the following international journal: Lancet, Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Kidney International, American Journal of Kidney Diseases, American Journal of Nephrology, Nephrology, Dialysis Transplantation, Nephron, Clinical Nephrology, International Journal of Artificial Organs, Seminars in Nephrology, Transplantation, Transplant International, Blood Purification, Transplant Immunology, and Transplantation Proceedings. Klinger is a Reviewer for: Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, American Journal of Nephrology, Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation, Nephron, Clinical Nephrology, Blood Pressure& Kidney Research, Transplantation Proceedings, Medicinal Research Reviews and for the Polish, Czech, Israeli Governmental Scientific Agencies
