Daniel Potts works as a Professor of mathematics at Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany. His work focuses on applied analysis and its use in scientific computing. His main field of research is computational harmonic analysis. He earned his Diploma and Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the University of Rostock in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He held a research position at the University of Lübeck from 1996 to 2005 and served as a Visiting Researcher at SINTEF Applied Mathematics, Norway, in 2001. He obtained his habilitation in 2004 at the University of Lübeck and has been working as a Full Professor at Chemnitz since 2005.
