Emel Kuruoglu

Emel Kuruoglu received the B.S. degree in business and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in econometrics, all from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir. She worked at YABIM Computer Center as an Instructor and System Analyst. She started to study and work at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences as a researcher. She became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Dokuz Eylul University, in 1999. She joined the Knowledge/Intelligence System Laboratory at University of Toronto as a Postdoctoral Fellow between 2000 and 2003 and as a Research Associate in 2004. In 2005, she returned to the Department of Statistics at Dokuz Eylul University as an Assistant Professor and now she gives several statistical and computational courses. Her area of research includes fuzzy system modeling, analytic hierarchy process, data mining, statistical knowledge systems.
